COAST TO COAST EUROPEAN ADVENTURE
This spectacular virtual bike ride starts on the French Atlantic coast arriving 2,600 miles later at the Bulgarian Black Sea. Inspired by the amazing EuroVelo 6 route this trans-European 2-wheel odyssey passes through 10 countries. Take advantage of Google Street View as we zip along scenic, often traffic-free routes tracing the banks of 6 major rivers, past 11 UNESCO sites and through beautiful mountain countryside.
Think you can average 100 miles of cycling per week for 6 months? Then this is the challenge for you. And you won’t be alone – you’ll be able to check out the progress of other solo riders and teams who are also part of our virtual country-hopping peloton!
This challenge has been designed around cycling but you can add additional distance by recording walking and running activity. Importantly, the Coast to Coast European Adventure has been carefully designed by Be Your Adventures in conjunction with Zento so that everyone can take part virtually, in a safe environment – even at or in your home – and in a manner that fully complies with global COVID-19 guidelines.
TRACKING YOUR ACTIVITY
To track your progress you can input your distance on the website manually. But if you use a fitness app – e.g. Strava, Runkeeper or Garmin – you can automatically sync it to the event mapping technology (set-up guide provided after registration).
The beauty of doing the challenge virtually is that you exercise at your own pace – and in your own space – in a way that fit around your other commitments and prevailing COVID-19 health guidelines. We also have a Pacer Icon that’ll keep you on target. To finish the Coast to Coast European Adventure by 31st August as a Solo rider you’ll need to average 100 miles/week.
TAKE PART AS A TEAM
If going solo sounds like heavy work why not share the load with friends? For example, for a team of 2 the average distance per person drops to 7 miles/day. And for a team of 3 the distance per team member falls below 5 miles/day. So just find a friend or two, register with a funky team name, send us a photo and we’ll set your team icon up ready for the launch.
SUPPORT MIND
Solent Mind is our official event charity and a minimum of £10 from your entry fee will go towards the charity. https://www.solentmind.org.uk/
